Our Approach to Management System Certification

We formed SCS to cut through red tape and challenge the rigid formality and transactional relationships that once dominated the certification sector, while maintaining impartiality, objectivity, and professionalism. We build strong partnerships and actively engage with clients to understand their needs and those of their stakeholders, allowing us to align audit objectives and activities accordingly. Our competent professionals use a process audit approach to evaluate defined requirements and add value by identifying meaningful improvements that focus on what truly matters.

At System Certification Services, we take ownership of client enquiries and queries and ensure one point of contact to address in a timely manner. Understanding the time-sensitive nature of client interactions, we design our planning process to provide clear visibility and efficient communication of scheduled activities. We identify constraints or risks early and adjust our resources flexibly to meet client needs.
Our price point is competitive, and we act in a transparent manner, with a price fixed for the duration of each cycle. All costs such as mileage or travel expenses are included within the Audit Fee and there are no hidden costs. We do not charge registration, management or annual fees and do not apply any restrictive Terms and Conditions.

We allocate auditors to management system certification activities based on their technical knowledge of the client’s business sector and they provide detailed reports of positive and negative findings in order to provide a reference for the client personnel as to the samples observed, as well as indicating the relative strengths and weaknesses of the management system.

Through this approach, we achieve a high level of customer retention and because of the continuing commitment and focus of our people, we aim to and are confident of, our ability to consistently achieve customer satisfaction.

Competency is the key success factor within SCS.

A competence articulates the expected outcome or performance standard that is achieved as a result of applying a combination of knowledge, personal attitude, skills and experience in a certain function or characteristic. It can be understood to represent the language of performance in System Certification Services Ltd., articulating both the expected outcomes of an individual’s efforts and the manner in which these activities are completed.

Our Accreditation

SCS holds accreditation from UKAS, the National Accreditation Body for the United Kingdom, appointed by the government to assess and accredit organisations that provide services such as certification, testing, inspection, and calibration.

We are also a Certification Body Member of the SSIP Forum, a mutual recognition scheme established in 2009 to support the Construction Sector. SSIP helps assess health and safety standards for pre-qualification and supply chain management.

Additionally, the Northern Ireland Centres of Procurement Expertise (CoPEs) have assessed and approved SCS as a third-party certification provider under the CPD NI BuildSafe criteria for Government Construction Clients.
We are members of the award-winning Association of British Certification Bodies (ABCB) which promotes accredited certification and represents SCS interests in the UK, Europe and globally on all matters relating to conformity assessment.

SCS do occasionally provide unaccredited certification of schemes, but only in instances where accredited schemes are not available or as a pilot for to gain accreditation in a technical sector or scheme.
