SCS are proud to acknowledge the appointment of our Director, Tony Duff, to the Board and Management Committee of the ABCB at the last AGM.
At a reception on the Terrace Pavillion and celebration luncheon in the Churchill Room in the House of Commons back in June 2024, ABCB celebrated its 40th year. The Association of British Certification Bodies was founded in 1984 and continues to be the lead UK trade association for nationally accredited third-party Certification Bodies.
Tony will represent the collective interests of ABCB and its members in continuing to promote accredited certification and where possible participate and collaborate with UKAS, IAF and EA and other stakeholders to assist in shaping the future of assurance in the UK & Ireland.
“I am delighted to be nominated and appointed to the Board of ABCB as it now plans for the next 3-5 years and continues to grow membership through the leadership of the previous CEO, Wayne Terry, and the recent interim CEO. We all look forward to the fresh vision of the new CEO soon to be appointed. It is also a great opportunity for SCS and myself personally, to engage with the UK certification bodies and my industry peers, to stay abreast of standards developments, hear market feedback, and be aware of any regulatory concerns. I’d also hope that I can contribute through technical consultation, as well as representing the interests of the smaller certification body members.”
