LOW ISO TRANSITION STATISTICS IDENTIFIED

In January 2018, IAF Accreditation Body members collected data from their accredited certification bodies that hold accreditations for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.  The data collected was to give an aggregate transition rate across the world for these two key standards to 31 December 2017.

Submissions were received from the vast majority of IAF ABs and gave transition rates covering a total of over 1 million ISO 9001 and 350,000 ISO 14001 accredited certificates.

The transition rates were 36.94% for ISO 9001 and 39.73% for ISO 14001, with UKAS reporting slightly lower figures. The statistics will be updated in March 2018.

Any organisations that need to move to the new version of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 should contact their certification body as soon as possible to make arrangements for their audit.

If organisations have difficulty securing transition audit confirmations in advance of the September 15th deadline in 2018, please get in touch with System Certification Services for more information on how a Transfer and Transition Audit may be the right solution.

Note that failure to achieve certification to the 2015 standard by the deadline means that your certification is no longer valid.
